Dr. Shoshan Shmuelof

Dr. Shoshan Shmuelof is a graduate of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, with degrees in music education and classical guitar performance. She holds a master’s degree in music education, specializing in the professional development of music teachers and the impact of concert programs on music education in elementary schools and kindergartens. She completed her Ph.D. at Bar-Ilan University on the subject of creative group work in music classrooms in elementary schools.

Since 2006, Dr. Shmuelof has been a faculty member at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, where she lectures in core courses such as theories of music education, practical methodology, and curriculum design. She also mentors student teachers during their practical fieldwork. In 2024, she was appointed head of the Music Education Department.

Since 2003, Dr. Shmuelof, together with Yael Ventura, has led the concert program "Touching Music in the North." This program is based on selecting complex artistic repertoires and presenting them to children in a deeply engaging manner during music lessons. As part of this work, she designs concert programs, writes instructional booklets for teachers, trains musicians, and conducts professional development workshops for teachers in schools and kindergartens through the Karev Program.

Dr. Shmuelof has presented her work at conferences in Israel, including those organized by the Ministry of Education, the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, and the Mofet Institute. She has also presented internationally, at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk and at the Early Childhood Music Education conference in Helsinki.
